BOYA Notra User Guide: Recording, Transcription and Review
BOYA Notra is a recorder for in-person conversations, phone calls and Bluetooth-earbud audio within its supported workflow. Its current product description lists 64 GB local storage and a manufacturer-rated 24-hour battery, alongside BOYA OS transcription and AI-assisted notes. This guide separates recording, file transfer and AI processing so you can check each stage.
Before the First Recording
- Confirm that your device is BOYA Notra, rather than Notra Neo or Nano.
- Use the official manual and application download linked for that model.
- Charge or power the device and check available recording storage.
- Confirm the app/account and network requirements for the transfer or AI functions you intend to use.
Before recording, explain the purpose and follow the requirements that apply to the conversation and your organization. Agree who may access the file and when it should be deleted. A recording device or AI feature does not establish permission to record or share.
Choose the Recording Source
| Source | Preparation | Test |
|---|---|---|
| In-person conversation | Place the recorder for the actual seating arrangement and reduce table noise. | Play back quiet and normal speech from the intended speakers. |
| Phone call | Use the phone-recording workflow in the model’s instructions. | Check both voices in a short permitted call. |
| Bluetooth-earbud conversation | Follow the supported connection and recording instructions for that setup. | Verify the actual audio path and saved file; do not infer support from Bluetooth pairing alone. |
Record, Then Confirm the File
- Select or prepare the source according to the current manual.
- Use the documented start control and check the device’s recording indication.
- Speak normally and check that the important parts of the conversation can be heard.
- Use the documented stop control; do not assume that ending a call always stops a separate recorder.
- Find the saved recording and replay its beginning, a key passage and its end.
- Name it with a useful project, subject and date before processing.
Transfer Is a Separate Step
Follow the supported transfer procedure for your phone or computer. Confirm that the intended file has arrived before deleting or moving the local copy. Connection, upload and cloud processing are different stages.
If a file does not appear, check the account, connection, transfer status and model instructions. Avoid repeated deletions or resets while the only copy of an important recording is still on the device.
Generate and Review a Transcript
Choose the relevant language and transcription option available in your BOYA OS plan. Wait for processing to finish, then check names, numbers, dates and speaker labels against the source. The product lists support for more than 140 languages; that does not guarantee identical accuracy across speakers or conditions.
Treat uncertain wording as uncertain. Correct a specialist term when you have a reliable source, and retain enough context to understand a quote. Overlapping voices and distant speakers can require manual listening.
Create a Useful Summary
Select an appropriate available template or ask for a short structure: Decisions, Open Questions and Next Actions. Check that proposed ideas have not become confirmed decisions. Add an owner and deadline only if they were actually agreed.
Illustrative review example: “Send the revised draft on Friday if figures arrive Thursday” should retain the dependency. The summary should not remove the condition or claim the figures have arrived.
Use Ask AI as a Navigation Aid
A generated answer can help locate a topic, but it should not replace checking the audio behind an important statement. If the answer cannot establish the context you need, replay the relevant conversation. Do not share a confident-looking answer as a verified quote without review.
Understand Plans and Retention
Hardware specifications and software allowances are separate. Check the current BOYA OS plan, included transcription allowance, renewal terms and regional availability before relying on an AI feature. Review important names, numbers and conclusions against the source audio.
For sensitive material, check the service’s current storage, access, deletion and sharing information before uploading. This guide does not claim a particular certification or encryption coverage for every stage of the workflow.
Frequently Asked Questions
